Here is an article from the New York Times. The Turkish foreign minister discussing Turkeys new mire aggressive role in mid east politics. He Says turkey and Egypt will be strengthening ties and may form an axis if democracy I'm the middle east at a time when U.S influence is declining.

Perhaps the ottoman empire is on the come up
